The first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy.
There is no expectation that you tell your whole story in the first session. We can work at a pace that feels manageable, discuss what you would like support with, and begin considering what might be helpful for you.

Accredited Mental Health Social Workers are experienced social workers who have undertaken additional assessment and accreditation in mental health practice.
Social work brings a person-in-environment perspective to therapy. This means that alongside supporting your emotional and psychological wellbeing, I consider the broader experiences and systems that may be affecting your life — including relationships, family, work, health, culture, identity, community and experiences of trauma or adversity.
My approach draws on evidence-informed therapeutic approaches while recognising that distress does not occur in isolation. Therapy can involve understanding both what is happening internally and the experiences, relationships and environments that have shaped how you have learned to cope and respond.
As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, I am also recognised by Medicare to provide focused psychological strategies to eligible clients referred under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
